Addie In Bizarro Land: The Good of John Cena

I just finished watching Monday Night RAW and the same thing stuck in my head tonight that has stuck in my head these past many months. 5 Simple words:

LETS GO CENA! CENA SUCKS

Throughout the time that We Talk Wrestling has been online both Mo and I have certainly expounded the Cena Sucks end of that chant. That case has been made online quite well. But this is Bizarro Land, and in Bizarro Land I plan to tackle the top three virtues of one Mr. John Cena and the benefits of Rising Above Hate! So here we go!

The Role Model Factor

I have no children or younger neices or nephews. If I did, however, I would be proud to have them look up to the John Cena character. He’s Mr. Squeeky clean. Although less popular, he is this generations Hulk Hogan. Hustle, Loyalty, Respect and never giving up are all admirable lessons that the youth of the world should be embracing. While he “lowered himself” during his feud with The Rock, generally John Cena maintains clean language (anyone remember Poopy?) and strong ethics.  Parents can count on the fact that, when John Cena is on their television screen, their children will not be corrupted by the “immorals” of the attitude era.

The Superman Factor

John Cena’s loss to the Rock was unexpected by me largely because Cena NEVER loses! I mean, ofcourse he loses, but it just seems like he never does. The last major loss Cena had was at Hell In The Cell to Alberto Del Rio in October. That’s six months of major victories. He may, and in fact probably did, have lost on RAW but not in a memorable, meaningful match or fashion.  Some people reading this will be thinking “ya that’s exactly why he needs to go” but John Cena’s Superman-like career has made him a winner. And winners get over! No one wants to cheer for a loser, otherwise Zack Ryder would be the biggest star in WWE right now!  Cheering for Cena means cheering for the victor and the message that sends to kids is that by playing by the rules and rising above hate results in being a winner.

The Make A Wish Factor

Love him or hate him, you can’t deny that John Cena’s record with charity is unlike any WWE Superstar past or present. The leader of CeNation has granted 250 wishes setting a record for the most wishes ever fulfilled by one person with the Make-a-Wish Foundation and is still going. Cena has been quoted saying: “There’s nothing greater than seeing a Make-A-Wish child and the Make-A-Wish family get so excited, get so happy and pretty much be welcomed into the escape that is the WWE. That’s pretty much what it’s all about for me.”

Well there you have it. My case as to why John Cena is great!  Please stay tuned for other radical and wacky opinions from Bizarro Land!!
