With the recent events of Smackdown surrounding the World Heavyweight Title, online fans are in an uproar. Some love the switch to Randy Orton, while others, like myself, are wondering what the point of a “5 day” reign even was for Christian. Over the past couple of days I’ve had time to reflect on the decision and I have gone through many different feelings and emotions—five to be exact. Here is my journey over the past few days:
Denial
No, WWE didn’t do that did they? Randy Orton beat Christian….no that doesn’t seem right. It can’t be. Wasn’t Christian going to face Mark Henry? I’ll have to look into this some more. Maybe someone sent in some fake spoilers and the real ones will come out in a few hours. Yeah….I’ll bet that’s exactly what happened!! Weew!! That was a close one!
Anger
WHAT? IT’S TRUE?!?!?! That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of!! WWE has lost their freakin minds!! They are so out of touch and have no clue what their fans….er universe… wants!! Whoever made this decision needs to be compromised to a permanent end for this!! Just utterly stupid for them to give him the belt, get our hopes up, and then crush us within the span of a week! I hate this business!
Bargaining
OK Vince, fine. I promise I will watch Smackdown as long as you agree to get the belt back on him soon. I’ll buy the next 7 Pay Per Views as long as you make is so Christian has an out!! Yeah…an out! Then you can put the belt right back on him!!
Depression
Ah screw it. I guess that WWE just doesn’t want me as a fan or care what I think. Pretty sad really. I guess it’s just the same old, same old with Randy Orton on top of Smackdown and John Cena on top of RAW as a 10 time champ. I guess the business is set to die a slow painful death because things like this will continue to happen. *Sigh*
Acceptance
Well, it is what it is. I guess the people in charge just are going to do whatever they are going to do and there is nothing me, or anyone but Vince for that matter, can do about it. Randy Orton isn’t the worst worker on the brand and was brought over to be their top star. Christian can now be called a former World Champion now which is nice for him. The World, WWE Universe included, will continue to go on regardless of who is champion right now.
Well, that’s where I’m at now with it. I am surely disappointed and I still stick by my feelings that this is a bad move to have a 5 day title reign (on TV, 2 days in reality) for your World Heavyweight Champion…regardless of who the champion is! In light of recent world events I can honestly say that Christian’s world title debacle is hardly high on the list of problems plaguing society right now. I’m just disheartened, and next time WWE starts to do something I like I’m going to be a little more hesitant to “mark out” because of this move. That’s the really sad part, not just for myself but for WWE’s business. But they will continue to move along despite this move and the money will continue to come in…for now.
Hey it could be worse…..THEY COULD HAVE HIRED CHYNA!!!!
